Guide

Companions

Three different things walk beside your character, and they are easy to mix up. One fights and grows, another fights and does not grow, and the third does not fight — but helps the whole party. This guide sets the three apart.

The three, side by side

fights and grows

Homunculus

Genetic only. It has its own level, eats to grow, learns skills and lends a bonus to its owner.

fights, does not grow

Class companion

Elementals, turrets and the warg. They exist while the skill is equipped and hit alongside you; their power comes from yours.

does not fight

Pocket pet

Walks with the hero and never strikes. It gives bonuses: most for the whole party, some only for the carrier.

They do not compete: a Genetic can have the homunculus fighting and a pocket pet on the shoulder at the same time.

Homunculus

There are 5 species, and you pick one. It goes from level 100 to 230, learning skills along the way — and each lends a different bonus to its owner.

How to get one. You must be a Genetic with the passive Bioethics. Once learned, the skill Call Homunculus unlocks and calls the creature. Without both equipped, the homunculus does not show up.

It grows by eating, not hunting. Each level asks for a meal, and the menu changes as it grows: it starts with any material and ends up demanding high-tier materials. The limit is 200 dishes per day, so growth is a routine, not a marathon. Each material’s chance is on each monster’s page.
Which one to pick. Look at what it lends its owner, not just its strike. In a party that already has plenty of damage, the owner bonus usually beats what it hits on its own.

Each species’ skills

Bayeri

Class companions

They are not raised or fed: they exist while the skill is equipped. Take it off the loadout and they vanish. They hit on their own, alongside you — and keep hitting during away farming.

Elementals — Sorcerer

Four spirits, one per element. The choice changes its damage element, which matters against monsters that resist yours.

AquaWater
VentusWind
TeraEarth

Turrets — Mechanic

Two turrets with opposite roles.

Arcane245% every 2.6 s · magic damage · scales with INT
Huntress85% every 2 s · physical damage · scales with DEX

Warg — Ranger

The Ranger’s wolf appears with its skill equipped and attacks alongside. It is the simplest of the three: no element choice, just bites.

Why they pay off during away farming. A companion that hits on its own keeps hitting with the game closed: its damage counts toward Away Farming just like yours.

Pocket pets

They walk with the hero and never strike. Each character carries one, so a full party carries one per member, and party bonuses add up.
